AUA2020 Annual Meeting FAQs

Attendee Info

General Information

Why did the AUA decide to cancel its Annual Meeting?
Like many of you, the AUA has been actively monitoring developments related to the global coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Due to rapidly escalating health concerns, coupled with U.S. President Trump's emergency declaration, the AUA made the difficult, but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. There is no higher priority to the AUA than the health, safety and well-being of our members, staff, partners, volunteers, guests and community at large.

Will the Annual Meeting be rescheduled?
Given the logistics that go into organizing a meeting of this size, the AUA is not able to reschedule the 2020 Annual Meeting; however, in the coming weeks we intend to tap into the innovative spirit of our specialty and share abstracts, surgical videos and other important clinical education from our meeting as we are able.

Refunds

Do I need to call and request an Annual Meeting registration refund?
You will NOT need to contact the AUA to initiate a refund. The AUA is proactively cancelling your existing registration and processing applicable refunds for registrants. Once we have processed your refund, we will email you a confirmation message.

Will I be refunded hotel costs?
If you booked your hotel through our official housing partner, onPeak, their agents will work with you directly to manage your hotel reservation. Please email aua@onpeak.com or call (866) 772-4409 Toll-Free or (312) 527-7300 International for assistance.

For attendees who did not book a hotel room through onPeak, please contact your hotel, booking agent, travel app or website as cancellations must be made directly with the company and are subject to their cancellation policy.

Will I be refunded for travel costs?
The AUA will not be refunding individual airline tickets or travel costs. Please contact your airline or travel agent directly regarding ticket cancellations. If you purchased travel insurance, contact your provider for information and next steps. Many airlines are waiving cancellation fees or considering the action that precipitated your cancellation. Please contact your airline to see if your ticket qualifies.

FAQs for Speakers

If there are virtual sessions, when will those be scheduled?
Given the logistics that go into organizing a meeting of this size, the AUA is not able to reschedule the 2020 Annual Meeting; however, in the coming weeks we intend to tap into the innovative spirit of our specialty and share the abstracts, surgical videos and other important clinical education from our meeting as we are able. Details about the distribution of annual meeting education will be forthcoming.

Should I still prepare a presentation relative to my accepted abstract?

As such, we would encourage you to continue with your presentation preparations as we work to define virtual options. We will continue to keep you posted as more information becomes available.

Who can I contact for more information?
Please email our Annual Meeting team at speakers@AUAnet.org and a member of our team will get back to you in 24-48 hours. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through all details.
